Molds were a major component discussed. According to one of my colleagues in the Chicago area, mold counts are dangerously high. The warm, humid and wet weather has created ideal conditions for molds to flourish although indoor environments may not be directly impacted.

Homes that are well sealed, kept cool and dry will have much lower mold content compared to residences that have sustained floods or do not have air-conditioning. Many Chicago area homes have flooded or sustained water damage because of some of the torrential rains we have endured.

My colleague, Dr. Leija measures mold counts in the Chicago area. I share his concern that the red zone level for mold counts may be here. Review the tips I gave you in my last posting. Remember to keep the a/c going as much as possible. Keep the windows shut and get a dehumidifier for the basement if you can.

The key to winning the battle is to know your enemy and have a plan. I am more than happy to assist you with this. Have questions or comments? Share them with me and the rest of us.
